When Katy finally made the move to Nashvegas in 2002 she quickly discovered a few important things critical to an artists success:
1) Finding a paying gig in town was rough compared to other cities in the U.S. So many country artists flock to Music City and are willing to pay the venue or guarantee a bar tab just to play out and get their stuff heard.
2) Finding and keeping good quality musicians was also a challenge. There's always a bigger better deal in town so once you find a reliable player it's not so easy to keep them. Katy shares recommendations for some of the top players in town.
3) Who are the best session players? Katy's pics for her favorites from pedal steel to lead guitar.
4) Everyone's a producer. Shania Twain said it best in her hit song "If You're Not In It For Love"....I can make you a star, in the back seat of my car...There are decent producers in town and Katy share's her favs and tips for recognizing "posers".
