Singer/Songwriter Katy Kiefer Extends Her Heart & Talent to Valentine’s Day Benefit

Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Katy Kiefer proves there is more than one way to show love on Valentine’s Day by coordinating and performing at a benefit for Oklahoma Program Director “Luscious” Lynn Thomas. Kiefer and friends join forces at the Rutledge, located at 410 4^th Avenue South, on Thursday, February 14^th to support Thomas as she struggles to climb out from beneath her medical bills. Thomas suffered a seizure in 2007 resulting from type 2 diabetes and, consequently, accumulated more than $6,000 in medical charges.

“Lynn is an artist’s dream when it comes to radio,” say Kiefer. “She is passionate about her work and takes artists under her wing if she truly believes in their talent. Nashville was a perfect location for the benefit because she has assisted many independent artists in the area as they pushed for placement on the Music Row charts.” Kiefer, a Vesta Records’ recording artist, recently released a sophomore project, Naked, produced by the Grammy nominated Jim Lightman whose resume includes work for India Arie and Lee Ann Womack. In 2007, Kiefer was nominated for “Best International Artist” at Australia’s Musicoz Awards.

The full line up for the event includes Lofton Creek’s Kristina Cornell alongside rising artists Greg Crowe, Fletcher, The Harters, Natalie Howard, Derryl Perry, the Readings and the Two Timers. A $10 donation provides admission to the performance that kicks off at 8 PM.

Katy Kiefer Nominated for Australia's 2007 Musicoz Awards "Best International Artist"

Katy Kiefer, the rising country red head with raw, piercing lyrics, receives a nomination for Australia’s Musicoz Awards “Best International Artist” and signs with the legendary Nashville firm PLA Media. The Nationals Musicoz Awards, airing Thursday, November 22 from the Enmore Theater in Sydney, recognizes the best among independent and unsigned artists.

“I was so psyched to learn I was a finalist,” says Kiefer. “Having worked with several artists from Australia, I have learned so much about the culture and the people. I can only hope one day to get the opportunity to play there. I’ve got my fingers, eyes and toes crossed!” The Musicoz Awards receive more than 5,000 entries and include a judging panel of industry leaders from major and indie labels, managers, radio program directors and booking agents. Kiefer has made quite an impression on the Nashville area. Within months, she had a publishing deal with EMI. In addition, Katy has opened for Kevin Sharp, T. Graham Brown and Jason Aldean. TMR Records has also inked a deal with Kiefer for an online single to be released prior to the holidays. TMR Records currently houses Musik Mafia’s Chance and the show all buffed, Naked Cowboy.

Caught Up in Your Gravity, the first single from her soon to be released Vesta Records sophomore project titled Naked, is set to be released on October 29th with the full album coming available around mid December.
